The present St Patrick's Church's foundation stone was laid on St Patrick's Day, 1875, and completed in 1886. The church was built of local stone in Gothic Revival design and features imported stain glass windows which were imported from Italy.

The historical St Saviours Church Katrine is a charming old stone building just outside of Northam on the road to Toodyay. Examine the skilful brickwork of the church, which has been standing for nearly 150 years. As with other structural feats of the era, the church was built by ex convicts in the late 1800s.

Opened as a botanical garden in 1845, they offer beautiful shade, well-kept lawns, and an extensive range of plants and trees.
